OsmO — a duo of Alice Van Langendonck and Andreas Van Kerckhoven

ベルギー・ブリュッセルから2名のアーティストが約3週間、鹿沼で滞在制作を実施します。Aliceはブリュッセル音楽院でピアノを学んだ後、大学で1950年代の日本の現代音楽や電子音楽について研究。Andreasは建築を学んだ後、ミュージシャンのための舞台美術や照明を手掛け、サウンドデザイナーとしても活動しています。
滞在制作の成果として、8/1（土）にはライブイベントを開催。デュオ名義OsmOで、鹿沼の自然や街の音を様々なデバイスでフィールドレコーディングし、ピアノの演奏や空間演出と組み合わせることで、その場にしか生まれない音楽を創作します。制作に関するトークと、終演後にささやかなパーティーもあります。街中で２人を見かけた際は、お気軽に声をかけてみてください！

Alice Van Langendonck｜アリス・ファン・ランヘンドンク
ブリュッセル拠点のピアニスト・日本学者。ゲント大学で日本学の修士号を最優秀で取得し、修士論文では武満徹や黛敏郎など1950年代における日本のミュージック・コンクレートを研究。2023年には神戸大学への交換留学を通じて草月アートセンターのアーカイブを実地調査。演奏ではクラシックピアノを基盤に、ジャズ・電子音楽へと越境。現在はパートナーのアンドレアスとエレクトロアコースティックのデュオとして活動中。
Andreas Van Kerckhoven｜ アンドレアス・ファン・ケルクホーフェン
ブリュッセル拠点の舞台美術・サウンドデザイナー。シント＝ルカス芸術学校で建築の修士号を最優秀で取得。大型展示やライブ会場での空間設計を多数手がける。映像コレクティブの一員として映画制作にも参加。舞台を「パフォーマティブな装置」として捉え、演者とともに空間が呼吸するよう、建築とライブパフォーマンスを橋渡しする。

Two artists from Brussels, Belgium will be in residence in Kanuma for approximately three weeks. Alice studied piano at the Music Academy of Brussels before researching Japanese contemporary and electronic music of the 1950s at university. Andreas studied architecture before going on to create scenographies and lighting for musicians, and works as a sound designer.
As a result of their residency, a live event will be held on Saturday, August 1st. Under their duo name OsmO, they will field-record the sounds of Kanuma’s nature and streets using various devices, combining these recordings with live piano performance and spatial design to create music that can only come alive in that moment and place. An artist talk and a small party will follow after the performance. If you spot them around town, feel free to say hello!
Alice Van Langendonck
Brussels-based pianist and Japanologist. She holds a Master of Arts in Japanology with highest distinction from Ghent University, with her thesis focusing on the origins of Japanese musique concrète in the 1950s — tracing how pioneering composers such as Takemitsu Tōru and Mayuzumi Toshirō created a distinctly Japanese perspective on tape music. In 2023, she explored the archives of the Sōgetsu Art Center during a five-month exchange at Kobe University. A classically trained pianist, her musical identity spans jazz and electronic music. Currently active as an electro-acoustic duo with her partner Andreas.
Andreas Van Kerckhoven
Brussels-based scenographer and sound designer. He holds a Master of Architecture with highest distinction from the Sint-Lucas School of Arts. Focusing on the intersection of music and visual art, he creates scenographies for musicians. He is also part of a film collective. Treating the stage as a performative machine rather than a static frame, the environment breathes alongside the performer — bridging the gap between architecture and live choreography.
