暗渠（あんきょ）とは、コンクリートなどで蓋をされた水路のこと。鹿沼のまちなかはかつて目に見える形で水路が網目状に広がっていました。その水路は今でも暗渠として街の中を流れ、よく見ると独特な外形やカーブを確認することができます。
Center AiRで滞在制作するサウンドアーティスト/アコーディオン奏者の桐山さんと一緒に、水の音に耳を傾けながら水路をめぐりましょう。水先案内人は北関東を中心に街歩きを楽しんでいる名塚久貴さんです。

桐山ショウゴ / Shogo KIRIYAMA
東京在住のサウンドアーティスト、アコーディオン・アコーディナ・打楽器奏者、ソングライター。京都大学文学部卒業。第21回大阪国際音楽コンクール民族楽器部門にてアコーディナでエスポアール賞受賞のほか、第2回JILA打楽器コンクール3位入賞、Asian Youth Orchestra参加。その他、hoshioto2022や静岡大道芸フェスティバル2023など様々なフェスに参加。
クラシック音楽的な解釈と打楽器的なグルーブを土台に、民族音楽やジプシージャズなどアコースティックな演奏のほか、デジタル機器や環境音、サンプリング音などを駆使した表現も精力的に行っている。

名塚久貴
鹿沼生まれの鹿沼育ち。現在も鹿沼市在住。数年前から街歩きの楽しさにはまり、関東各地の街を歩く。街歩きでは、土地の歴史、高低差、電柱の番札、水路、暗渠、建造物、石材、面格子等に着目しながら歩き、その場所で目に留まるものを見つけて楽しむ。現在は街歩きを楽しむ団体「北関東スリバチ学会」顧問。
An underground channel is a waterway covered with concrete or similar materials. In the past, Kanuma’s town center featured a visible network of waterways spreading like a mesh. These channels still flow beneath the city as underground channels, and if you look closely, you can discern their unique shapes and curves. Join us as we explore these waterways and listen to the sounds of the water with artist-in-residence Shogo KIRIYAMA.
Shogo KIRIYAMA
Sound Artist, Accordion, Accordina and multi-percussion player, Songwriter. He won the 3rd Prize at 2nd JILA Percussion competition, the Espoir Prize at the 21st OSAKA international music competition with the accordion, joined Asian youth orchestra.
In addition to performing acoustic music such as folk music and gypsy jazz based on classical music interpretations, his activities span a wide range of activities, including performances centered on digital equipment.
