緊急開催決定！スウェーデンの作曲家=Mareike Dobewallによる、場所固有の特性を活かした音響サイトスペシフィック作品『Distant Harmonies』を日本初上演します。
即興と現代音楽のシーンで活動してきたヴァイオリンのEva Lindal、ハープのStina Hellberg Agbackとの協働による本作は、距離そのものを音楽的な要素へと変容させ、空間を第三の演奏者として取り込む音響パフォーマンスです。
Mareikeはストックホルム芸術大学でオペラの博士号を取得しており、現在は空間作曲家、舞台美術家、音楽家として各分野を自由に行き来する活動を行っています。3者によるパフォーマンス、お見逃しなく！

Eva Lindal
即興演奏と現代音楽に携わるヴァイオリニスト。1958年、ストックホルム生まれ。ストックホルム王立音楽大学で学び、スイスとカナダのバンフでさらに研鑽を積む。1986年から2000年までスウェーデン放送交響楽団の団員を務める。その後はフリーランスの音楽家として活動し、即興演奏、現代音楽、分野を超えた共同プロジェクトに注力している。
Stina Hellberg Agback
北欧のジャズおよび実験音楽シーンで活躍するハープ奏者、作曲家、即興演奏家。ストックホルム王立音楽大学やバークリー音楽大学、ロンドンのトリニティ音楽大学でも学ぶ。彼女の音楽性はジャズ、自由即興、現代作曲の交差点に位置し、ハープの音響的可能性を絶えず挑戦し拡張し続けている。
Mareike Dobewall
空間作曲家、演出家、舞台美術家、音楽家、芸術研究者であり、その活動は分野を超えて自由に行き来する。彼女の実践はライブサウンド、場所に応答するパフォーマンス、身体・空間・音響の詩的な相互作用を重視する。2021年にはストックホルム芸術大学にて博士号を取得。論文『Voicelanding – 場所に応答するパフォーマンスにおける音響的音の舞台美術的可能性の探求』では、音が空間体験をどのように振り付け、変容させるかを考察した。彼女の作品はしばしばパフォーマンス空間を共同作曲者として扱い、観客が音響構造をどのように体験し認識するかを導く。
Eva Lindal is a violinist with a deep engagement in both improvisation and contemporary music. Born in Stockholm in 1958, she studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, with further studies in Switzerland and at Banff, Canada. From 1986 to 2000, Eva was a member of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Since then, she has worked as a freelance musician, concentrating on improvisation, contemporary repertoire, and collaborative cross-disciplinary projects.
Stina Hellberg Agback is a harpist, composer, and improviser active in the Nordic jazz and experimental music scene. She holds advanced training from institutions including the Royal College of Music (Stockholm), and has studied at Berklee College of Music and Trinity College of Music, London. Her musical voice lies at the intersection of jazz, free improvisation, and contemporary composition—she continuously challenges and extends the sonic potential of the harp.
Mareike Dobewall is a spatial composer, director, scenographer, musician, and artistic researcher whose work moves freely across disciplines. Her practice emphasizes live sound, site-sensitive performance, and the poetic interplay of body, space, and acoustics. In 2021 she completed her PhD at Stockholm University of the Arts with the thesis Voicelanding – Exploring the Scenographic Potential of Acoustic Sound in Site-Sensitive Performance, which investigates the ways sound can choreograph and transform spatial experience. Her work often treats the performance space as a co-composer, guiding how audiences inhabit and perceive sonic structure.
Distant Harmonies is a new spatial sound performance for violin and harp, that Mareike Dobewall developed in collaboration with violinist Eva Lindal and harpist Stina Hellberg Agback.
Premiere was in November 2024 followed by performances in Gdansk – WL4, Berlin – Hosek Cotemporary, Bielefeld – Zionskirche Bethel Turku – Sibeliusmuseum
“Distant Harmonies” is the latest in Mareike’s ongoing exploration of space as an active participant in live performance. Created in collaboration with violinist Eva Lindal and harpist Stina Hellberg Agback, this spatial sound performance transforms distance into a vital element of the music itself. By physically varying the distance between the musicians in large, resonant spaces, Mareike invites the space to play the role of a third musician, influencing timing, tuning, and the overall sonic unfolding of the work.
The performance is adjusted by Mareike Dobewall at each site, where she functions as a sort of conductor, directing how the music best travels through the space. At some chosen sites a new site-specific element is created. This lets this performance grow as it tours.
